Wish us Canadians could help with you guys in response to the Senate, but this is up to you guys. However, I do think that the time has come to put aside the poilcits, the standing around and talking bit, and get down to cleaning up that oil. Reform can wait until all that oil is swept up.
Visconti is the one who needs to get his facts straight. According to the news tnhogit, opening offshore drilling would produce at best 2.5 years of oil at current rates of consumption and it would take 5 - 10 years for it to come on line. Also, the oil companies have thousands of leases for offshore sites that are not effected by this ban that they have not drilled on to date. Opening the offshore sites would only create a financial bonanza for the bloated, cash drunk oil companies at the risk of catastrophic environmental damage in the event of a major spill. Even the Governator opposes opening offshore drilling off the coast of Kaleefornia. Its interesting that Visconti is making this an issue on the same day President Bush did so. I guess the Republican propaganda machine is still cranking away even without Turd Blossom at the controls. Visconti is just parroting the talking points of the day as issued by his puppet masters.
You're the greeatst! JMHO
